Welcome to iCAN KIDS Bari

KIDS Bari is promoted by TEDDY – European Network of Excellence for Paediatric Research thanks to a collaboration between Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF) and the Paediatric University Hospital “Giovanni XXIII” in Bari (Italy).

The KIDS Bari Chapter is composed of students from high schools who are trained on topics such as biomedicine, research, clinical trials, and innovation in order to be able to work together and closely with researchers. Our youth members in KIDS Bari want to learn more to help them to develop research questions, design trials, improve communication with the target population, and brainstorm methods for dissemination of findings.

The mission of KIDS Bari is to raise awareness about the importance of children’s involvement in clinical trials. Our passionate youth members want to support researchers in the design and conduct of clinical trials in paediatrics as well as the dissemination of research findings. KIDS Bari is at the forefront of defining priorities for future research. More information on the KIDS Bari is available here.

"What makes our iCAN KIDS Bari Chapter Great"

KIDS Bari is delighted to be a part of iCAN Research.

More recently, the youth members of KIDS Bari have participated in the development of the “My CTC” serious game aimed at providing information within a more effective and enjoyable learning experience. The serious game has been developed through a participatory design, in which the youth members contributed to the graphic choices of characters and interfaces and to the revision of the contents.

In the framework of the EPTRI (European Paediatric Translational Research Infrastructure) project, children were also involved in the revision and translation of surveys, addressed to boys and girls up to 18 years of age, and developed to make the language and layout more child-friendly.

Moreover, they participated in the project #WECARE_YE, a youth exchange, which was funded under the Erasmus + Programme with the aim to foster youth active participation in the field of Health & wellbeing promotion and support actions for encouraging youth groups exchanges within 5 countries.
