Why attend the iCAN 2026 Summit?

Sharing Kid Voices!
This event provides our youth members with an invaluable opportunity to learn from one another, and to network with leading professionals, including industry and clinicians, from around the globe. In turn, the iCAN Summit offers the scientific community an opportunity to engage directly with children and parents, so that they may learn about the value and the importance of the influence of children on research, medicine, and innovation.

Since the inception of iCAN, an annual iCAN Summit has been offered to provide young people an opportunity to work with medical professionals, community leaders, scientists, and researchers in medicine, science, health, and technology to improve the health and well-being of all children, especially those with chronic conditions and rare diseases.

Summit Site - Barretstown
We are so excited to host iCAN's 12th Summit in such a special location. Barretstown is fully wheelchair accessible and thoughtfully designed to accommodate a wide range of physical and medical needs, ensuring that all participants can engage comfortably and safely. Round-trip transportation to and from the Barretstown will be provided via scheduled bus/shuttle service on Sunday (July 12th) and Friday (July 17th) from Dublin Airport. If you arrive outside of the scheduled times or depart early, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from the camp.
This year’s Summit will follow a camp-style format, intentionally creating a shared living and learning environment. By bringing industry leaders, youth, and parents together in one space, we aim to foster deeper relationships, meaningful collaboration, and true partnership through shared experiences and open engagement.
Under the SeriousFun umbrella and just an hour out from Dublin, Barretstown is a Summit location that encompasses iCAN's core mission of making sure that pediatric patients are empowered and supported!
A unique combination of traditional iCAN Summit programming and inclusive, camp activities, the 12th iCAN Summit will be a truly special and life-changing experience! Activities will include horseback riding, archery, high ropes course, canoeing, and more. (All activities are tailored to the mobility needs of attendees).
