The Invitation:

• We invite you to submit your story to the first edition of I CAN Make A Difference!. Building on iCAN's historic role in sharing young people's voices across different mediums, I CAN Make A Difference! will showcase how young people are making a difference in healthcare across the world! You are welcome to submit both an original "I can make a difference" story and an illustration to accompany your story. Everyday, an incredible iCAN youth inspires others, and each submission to the book will inspires those who read them to effect change in their own lives.

Building Your Submission:

• We are inviting iCAN KIDS (8-21) from around the world to show us how they believe they can make the world a better place.

• Your idea can be big or small. Maybe you want to make healthcare better for kids, help protect the environment, support someone who feels alone, make your community more inclusive, inspire others, or create something that makes life better for people around you.

• Your Submission

  • Every submission will follow the same simple format:

    • 1. Start with “I CAN…”

      • Complete the sentence with your idea for making the world a better place.

    • 2. Tell us your story

      • Write a short story explaining your idea and why it matters to you.
    • 3. Draw your idea!

      • Create an original picture showing how you can make a difference. Your picture must be hand-drawn by you.

• Become a Published Co-Author!

• Selected submissions will be included in I CAN Make A Difference! — giving kids the opportunity to:

  • Become a published co-author

  • Have their story and artwork featured in an iCAN book

  • Have the book available for purchase on Amazon

  • Share their ideas with readers around the world

  • -Inspire other young people to make a difference

  • -Help raise funds to support youth participation in the iCAN Global Summit

• Your voice matters. Your ideas matter. Your actions matter. We want to show the world that young people don't have to wait to grow up to make a difference. You can start today.

• iCAN, the International Children's Advisory Network, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose members are youth from around the world. For a decade, iCAN has consistently prioritized for the representation of children and families in the realms of pediatric medicine, research, and innovation. iCAN is the platform for empowering young individuals to contribute their insights and experiences, directly influencing the landscape of pediatric medical research and innovation.
