KIDS Walter Payton
Youth-Led Pediatric Advocacy Group
KIDS Walter Payton is a school-based chapter of the International Children’s Advisory Network (ICAN), dedicated to empowering youth in pediatric healthcare advocacy, research, and innovation. As high school students passionate about making a difference, we work to bridge the gap between young people and the medical community by engaging in discussions, hosting guest speakers, and contributing to pediatric research initiatives.
Our chapter is unique in that many of our members do not personally experience chronic illnesses, yet we are deeply committed to advocacy, demonstrating that anyone can play a role in improving healthcare for children. Through our meetings, projects, and collaborations, we aim to educate, raise awareness, and inspire other young people to get involved in pediatric healthcare.
By balancing our advocacy efforts with the many extracurricular opportunities high school offers, we bring a fresh perspective to youth engagement in medicine and research. Whether it’s through connecting with healthcare professionals, sharing insights on clinical trials, or leading discussions on patient-centered care, KIDS Walter Payton is dedicated to amplifying youth voices in pediatric healthcare.
